The UK's First Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Guidance Manual (November 2009)

AssetCo Technical Rescue are proud to announce the publication of the UK's first Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Guidance Manaual.

Specialisting in swiftwater and flood incidents, this comprehensive guide provides vital rescue information for the emergency services, volunteer organisations and specialist rescue teams, with the intention to enhance technical rescue techniques and to ultimately help save lives.

This guide is the first UK-based comprehensive training manual for water rescue, accredited by both CFOA (the UK's Chief Fire Officers' Association) and Jim Segerstrom, AssetCo Technical Rescue pioneer and founder of swiftwater rescue.

AssetCo Technical Rescue's guide intends to provide a standardised approach to safety and efficiently dealing with incidents involving water.  The guide provides a 'start-to-finish' approach to water incidents, with the exception of operations involving diving below the surface of the water for search and rescue.

From an Introduction to Swiftwater and Flood Rescue and Hazard Awareness to Health, Safety and Welfare, the manual covers a broad and varied skills base for the emergency services, volunteer organisations and specialist rescue teams.
